Kevin Wanden

Kevin Wanden - Director

Kevin Wanden has been director of the centre since February 2007.  Prior to that he was a faculty member of the Catholic Insititute of Theology and had taught in Catholic secondary schools throughout New Zealand

Through the Episcopal Deputy for NCRS currently Bishop Colin D Campbell of Dunedin, Kevin is responsible to the New Zealand Catholic Bishops Conference for the work of the Centre.

Apart from general oversight of the work of the NCRS, a major part of the Director’s role is the regular chairing of national meetings of the of consultants, advisers and coordinators of the religious education and catechetical programmes from each diocese. (See About NCRS)

John Parker

Joan Parker rndm - Programmes Writer

Joan works from the Pompallier Diocesan Centre in Auckland and has been part of the NCRS staff since 1992. Before that she had a varied work experience in school teaching and then as religious education adviser at regional level, involving working with rural families, schools and parishes. Joan was also secondary religious education adviser in the Archdiocese of Wellington and the diocese of Palmerston North for three years.

Joan’s work at NCRS mainly involves the writing and editing of adult programmes. She is responsible for the last revision of the Walk By Faith programme. Recently Joan’s major task has been work on the text of Sharing the Gospel Today, the new Catechetical Directory for Aotearoa New Zealand – at present still in draft form.

Her tasks also include assistance with the editing and proof reading of the Centre’s materials for schools and parishes.

Nuala Dunne

Nuala Dunne - Secretary

Nuala joined the staff at NCRS in April 2004 with a varied background, which included teaching and library work as well as secretarial experience.

As secretary Nuala is the Centre's first point of contact for most people. She deals with enquiries and is responsible for the administration of Walk By Faith and the other adult courses as well as all the word-processing required.
