The National Centre for Religious Studies produces programmes and resources for Religious Education in New Zealand.

NCRS is an agency of the New Zealand Catholic Bishops Conference. It is responsible for the production of Adult courses such as Walk by Faith and the Understanding Sexuality programme. It also produces religious education and catechetical programmes at Secondary and Primary levels for schools and parishes.

 

Adult Faith Education

NCRS offers courses designed to increase understanding and promote a mature faith.

These courses, diplomas and degrees are made available through universities and dioceses.

Parish-based programmes

Faith-learning activity at parish level is based around preparing to receive the sacraments, for example the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, Baptism or Confirmation.

NCRS produces two programmes to support parish catechists in more general catechesis.
